Leading our team
I’ve spent all of my adult life working in the voluntary sector, for both local and national charities, delivering services or raising funds to support children and adults affected by ill health.
I lead the staff team here at Children’s Cancer North, helping to set our goals and ensuring we both deliver a great service and raise enough funds to achieve our vision. As we’re a small team I also get the chance to get hands on in all areas of our work, from meeting our fundraisers to helping deliver our events programme. My favourite part of the job is when we get to meet the inspirational children and families, whose lives have often been turned upside down by cancer, who choose to spend time and energy raising funds to make a difference.
Around five years ago I got the chance to donate my stem cells to someone being treated for cancer after I joined the stem cell donor register and was matched. Something I will always remember and feel honoured to have had the chance to do.
