Hi, I’m Emma Carson and we’re delighted to announce that the team at Children’s Cancer North has recently expanded with three new members of staff. So, I was tasked to start off our new #MeetTheTeam series, by introducing myself and my new role as Corporate Partnership Coordinator. I hope you enjoy reading my blog!

My new role is really exciting!

Exciting times are ahead and I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself, to tell you all about my role and about how I can work with organisations to help raise funds for children’s cancer. My role at the charity is completely new, so I’m really looking forward to building new corporate connections and of course to making it my own. I started working for Children’s Cancer North at the end of November 2021. After a few years of working in the corporate world in supply chain management, I applied to join the Children’s Cancer North team in the pursuit of more fulfilment and purpose.

Fast forward to now and I am fully engaged in my role as Corporate Partnership Coordinator. As well as managing the charity’s existing corporate partnerships, I am always looking for new opportunities to attract support from companies across the North East and Cumbria. Support from businesses is extremely important for us, as reliable and regular income streams allow us to continue our work in helping make lives better for children and young people with cancer.

I love a good swim in the freezing sea…

In my free time you are most likely to find me hiking, swimming in the North Sea or drinking coffee at the beach. I am extremely lucky to live close to the beaches at Tynemouth and Cullercoats, so I’m down there dipping pretty much all the time! I also spend a fair bit of time back home in Northern Ireland seeing my family and visiting the gorgeous countryside there.

Let’s work together

I get real satisfaction from making new corporate connections and learning about the work that they do. I hope to meet with many more businesses over the coming months so that we can work together, ultimately helping to support children with cancer and their families during their tough and challenging journeys.  The support that businesses provide us, both past and present, has also enabled us to fund critical and valuable research carried out at the Wolfson Childhood Cancer Research Centre at Newcastle University.

If your company is interested in discussing ways that you can work with us, then please do get in touch with me. Whether you’re interested in adopting us as your ‘Charity of the Year’ or in arranging a team of employees to run the Great North Run for us – I’d love to hear from you! The opportunities are endless and we want to hear your ideas too, so let’s get chatting and take it from there. You can have a look at our website for some ideas on how you can work with us, connect with me on LinkedIn or just drop me an email at
