Announcing the Children’s Cancer North Christmas campaign
- 10 Nov 2023
If you’re travelling from the south of the region, you’re welcomed into Gateshead and Newcastle by the impressive sight of The Angel of the North. And for families travelling from the west of the country, Hadrian’s Wall, and the iconic image of Sycamore Gap, symbolises the journey to our regional capital. It’s for these reasons both sites were chosen to feature in our Christmas campaign this year, which includes some beautifully designed Christmas cards, decorations and a festive-themed tea towel.
The stunning artwork by local artist, Jo McKinnon (AKA. Missus Print), was created before the devastating felling of the famous sycamore at Hadrian’s Wall. Instead of changing the Sycamore Gap design, we’ve chosen to celebrate and honour this iconic North East image, which is loved by millions around the world.
By supporting our Christmas campaign, you’re helping bring a smile to the faces of each and every child and young person going through cancer treatment at Christmas. Your purchase means we can spread some festive sparkle across Wards 4 and 14 at the Great North Children’s Hospital, deliver seasonal events and activities, and hand out gifts to all the children (on behalf of Santa, of course).
You can explore our full festive range of cards and gifts in our online Shop. All the money raised goes directly to the charity to continue making life better for children with cancer.
