1) GDPR Friendly mobile app:

The Climb mobile app doesn’t store any personal data – be it child or adult – in the cloud, or on other physical servers and only requires a name in order to ‘register’. This information is only held locally on the individual’s device. Neither NECCR nor the developer have access to personal data via the app, but individuals do have to register to participate in the event via our website in the normal way you would do for our other events such as the Children’s Cancer Run. 2) COVID / Lockdown friendly:

We have designed this virtual event to be accessible to as many people as possible. With 6 challenges to choose from – ranging from 440m to 8848m climbing over a month you can do as much or as little as you want, indoors on your stairs or outdoors on steps or physical hills. You can even do it with your pets if you like!

3) Free Resources:

As well as the mobile app (participants are sent a link following registration) we have also developed a non digital progress tracker where participants can set themselves a target and tick off the milestones as they go! You can download the progress tracker here

4) Be part of the community, even if you are by yourself:

We may not be able to put on our big events like the Children’s Cancer Run, and unfortunately we can’t all go out in big groups, but we know that when we share a common experience it bolsters our sense of belonging and gives us purpose. The Climb gives individuals an opportunity to share in a common experience and even develop a bit of competition within the school environment or between friends. See who can get to the top of Tosson Hill first!

5) Healthy body, healthy mind:

As well as taking care of your mental health during lockdown, it’s equally important to stay on top of your physical well-being. With access to sports on the decline it can seem more difficult to stay active. However, there are plenty of ways you can keep your body moving and taking part in The Climb is one of them. 🙂
