How we can help when a child dies as a consequence of cancer

Bereavement Grant

We provide a £2,000 bereavement grant to families dealing with the death of a child as a consequence of cancer. This can be used in any way that the family wishes but is often used to help with funeral costs or remembering their loved one. We work closely with the Children and Young People's Oncology Outreach Nurse Specialist team who will share your details with us once they have your permission.

Memory Day

An annual event organised and funded by Children's Cancer North to remember, give thanks and celebrate the young people in our region who have sadly died because of cancer. This is an opportunity for families and the hospital's care teams to come together at a dedicated event that gives space to remember those who are no longer with us, and a chance to share their names and their stories.

MuchLoved

Children's Cancer North has partnered with MuchLoved - a platform where you can remember someone special. Create a tribute page dedicated to your loved one and fundraise in their memory, connect with their expert bereavement counsellors online, share funeral notices, or simply leave a lasting memory on our community memory wall.

What is a MuchLoved Tribute Page?

MuchLoved is a unique platform where you can create an online personalised tribute page to your loved one.

Here you can post messages, stories, memories, photos and videos, as well as fundraise or make a donation if you wish.

Tribute pages are free to set up and provide a beautiful space for family and friends to commemorate and celebrate the lives of those no longer with us.

If you don’t want to set up or contribute to a tribute page of your own, you can still leave a note of memory on the Children’s Cancer North Memory Wall.

 

Setting up and contributing to a MuchLoved tribute page is easy

  1. Create your Children’s Cancer North MuchLoved account by clicking the link here.
  2. Personalise your tribute page with stories, photos, videos and more.
  3. Share your page’s unique link so that others can contribute their own media and stories, light a candle, or make a donatation.
  4. Add any offline donations to your tribute fund so that you can see all of your fundraising in one place.
