What is the event?

The event is a 3k muddy family-friendly obstacle course, hosted by our friends at Clarty Bairns. There are a variety of obstacles that involve climbing, crawling, scrambling, getting wet and, of course, getting muddy! On Friday 15th July 2022 the event is FREE to families directly affected by childhood cancer in the North East and Cumbria.

Who is it for?

We are offering this free Family Fun Day to families and children directly affected by childhood cancer to have some fun together.

The event is open to any families who have been affected by childhood cancer, either in the past, or who have children that are currently undergoing treatment and able to participate.

Come along and meet other families, as well as the staff and trustees of Children’s Cancer North.

What we are offering

Take part in the obstacle course for free

The course is suitable for those aged 5 to 80 and you can easily skip obstacle if you wish. We suggest you wear old clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and you might want to bring some spare warm ones for afterwards as you'll be getting wet and muddy! You can register both participants and spectators on the registration form.

Meet other families

As well as taking part in the obstacle course, or for those not participating, there will be a space within the woods to have some refreshments and have the opportunity to meet other families that have been through similar experiences. There will also be fun fair side stall games available to play.

Meet the team

Come along and meet some of the staff and trustees of Children's Cancer North. It will be a lovely occasion for us to get to know you and for you to get to know us!

Thank you to Challenge Northumberland!

Thank you to Challenge Northumberland who have kindly offered access to their Clarty Bairns obstacle course, along with support from their staff team, for a free day for families affected by childhood cancer. Children’s Cancer North are the charity partner for the 2022 Clarty Bairns events which will open to the general public from Saturday 16th July for several weekday and weekend dates through the summer.

See our events page for more info on booking Clarty Bairns if you would like to take part but do not fit the criteria for this childhood cancer support day.
