My role is to lead on all areas of fundraising and operations. I manage our small but enthusiastic team of staff, reporting to Trustees on our progress in reaching our vision of making life better for children with cancer. I love working for a small but impactful charity where I can see the difference we make every day. I'm here because I believe passionately in what we do.
My key responsibilities are to lead on all events, including the Children’s Cancer Run. I am also developing and delivering a new, exciting programme of fundraising events that engage with our supporters and key stakeholders. I feel very lucky to be able to focus my expertise in events management on such a vital cause.
I provide and manage administrative, database and accounting services. I enjoy the satisfaction of leaving work at the end of the day knowing that I am a part of a team supporting important work being undertaken in research and helping to improve the lives of children with cancer.
I have been on secondment to the charity for 18 months. The main skills I have brought to the team are around marketing, communications and managing digital platforms. I also love to get stuck in to the everyday practical jobs that are required when you have a small but absolutely amazing team, and helping anyone that gets in touch with us to give them the best experience possible.
Coming from a background of marketing and communications, my role is fundamentally digital based. I manage our email newsletters and campaigns, social media and website. Alongside the day-to-day, I also lead on our digital fundraising campaigns. I love to think about different ways that we can engage with our audience and make the user experience a better one.
My role at Children’s Cancer North is varied. I support fundraisers who want to raise money through an activity or challenge. I work towards extending our community fundraising and I take an active role in organising and delivering a range of events. I love to see fundraisers really enjoy themselves and I’m proud to work towards making a real difference.
I get real satisfaction in working towards making lives better for children with cancer. My role at Children’s Cancer North is to manage the charity’s existing corporate partnerships, as well as look for new opportunities to attract support from companies across the North East and Cumbria.
