Our mission is simple. We are dedicated to making life better for children with cancer.
Newly formed in 2021, from the marriage of North of England Children’s Cancer Research and Children’s Cancer Fund, our charities have collectively raised over £40 million to support children with cancer in the North East and Cumbria since 1979.

We’re founded by a group of families from the North of England with first-hand experience of caring for their own children through diagnosis and treatment, and who never gave up supporting the ward that united them. We’re still here, and we’re inspired every day by the strength, energy and spirit of the children and families undergoing treatment right here in the North. We’re here for them.
We know the difference that supporting one another can make in the toughest of circumstances. On the ground, in the lab and on the ward – our care, compassion and empathy shines through on even the darkest days, as we strive to replace sadness with a smile.
For as long as families are affected by child cancer, we want to make sure they feel truly supported, and offer more than hope and kind sentiment. We will be by the side of those facing childhood cancer, to offer real relief and make a tangible difference to them in the moment, and in the future.
By raising awareness, raising more funds, and focusing funding where it is needed most, and most effective – we’ll work to improve how we deliver support, and how we develop pioneering treatments. We are bold and resourceful. With a commitment to keep moving and improving – we’re ambitious about building regional and global excellence in response to children’s cancer.
